“Wheatgrass juice is the nectar of rejuvenation, the plasma of youth, the blood of all life. The elements that are missing in our body’s cells – especially enzymes, vitamins, hormones and nucleic acids – can be obtained through this daily green sunlight transfusion.” Viktoras Kulvinskas, Author of Survival into the Twenty First Century

Hi, Nice video. I’m just getting into sprouting and growing wheatgrass. Since the grass is harvested by cutting it above the roots, does it grow back after it’s harvested? Or, do you only get one harvest per tray?
Do you ever have mold problems, and, if so, how do you take care of it?
It will grow back but is much less nutrient rich after the first harvest. Some people use the second growth for their animals.
Mold is common with wheatgrass; the trick is to keep it to a minimum. Too much water is the biggest culprit. I water moderately heavy the first two days then a light watering in the am from there on out. I do mist at night the first 2/3 days while the seed is covered so it will not dry out overnight. Good air movement will also help reduce mold.
I’ve been using volcanic ash that is appently full of minerals and seaweed which is supposed to be good for the skin. I’ve also heard of using worm casting because someone told me they were full of enzymes, has anyone else heard of this?
Thank you for showing this
Thank you for sharing your video. I don’t have a wheatgrass juicer yet nor a high power blender. Blending the wheatgrass with a cup of water and then placing it in a nut milk bag to squeeze out the juice is what I’ve seen on You Tube. Can we get enough nutrients from this method in your opinion or is the WG powder the way to go until I can get a juicer? Interested in your comments. Thanks again for being such a great teacher..
Hi. Thanks for the very informative video. I have a couple of questions though. after the seeds sprout, and you rinse, are the sprouts still soaking in water? Also, when you spread the sprouts on top of the soil mixture, are the sprouts on top of each other in layers? Thanks, Hank

Great video! I have never tried it, but hope to soon!
I was looking for a better video to demonstrate how sprouts can be used by people in ‘preparedness’ or survival type situations, and stumbled upon your video, excellent, thank you!
If you have the interest, could you do another on basic sprouting of various seeds? Beans, flax, rice, etc.?
LOVE THIS!!!! CANT WAIT TO TRY MY OWN
Great video. I have been looking at a lot of sprouting videos and intuitively I knew to add minerals to my sprout soaking water just like a good farmer would need to add minerals to his soil. You are the ONLY one who mentioned this part, so I got confirmation. Thanks.
Oh … Where is the best place to buy seed from?
can we drink the ocean solution instead?
great video… I wonder how you produce your own seeds so you don’t have to keep buying them. Anyone?
I have been growing wheatgrass, love it and could drink it all day long but have one problem. FRUIT FLY, they seem to love wheatgrass too and I’ve had an infestation of them.
Anyone else have this problem or know how I get rid of them?
Hey Roger, nice little basement greenhouse you’ve got going there.
I’m curious though, do you know what type of lighting is required for growing wheat grass? I noticed you have a few florescent shop lights hanging from the ceiling there. What’s the wattage / lumen rating on those things?
Thanks.
I already got more information watching the first few minutes on this video then any other ‘growing wheatgrass’ video ive seen, thanks, very well done.
@rogerldavis I see wheatgrass gets alot of its nutrients sucking up the soil and minerals , so then what about people who grow wheatgrass and dont use nutrient rich soil or water? Does the wheatgrass get any form of nutrients then?
Great video! Where did you buy your planting trays and wheatgrass seeds? The cheapest place I can find wheatgrass seeds is on ebay 10 lbs for 23 bux.
Thank you
